Today we went to an estancia or ranch to be immersed into the Gaucho culture. Along the way we saw the flower of BA, a stylized emblem really. In 1883 Irish Gauchos brought sheep to BA. they don’t do well here as the grass wasn’t hardy enough for the sheep to live on. So they ate the sheep and switched to soybeans and cattle. We toured the estancia st Susan always named after the woman of the house. After lunching on fried empanadas, wine, beef, sausage, chicken, and ice cream—we were entertained with singing and dancing from the oldest of the family on down. We even had some volunteers from the audience who braved their way to center stage to entertain the group. We watched the beautiful horses perform and compete in Ring races, Booing if they drop the ring and cheering if they caught it. At 4 pm we headed back to BA for a farewell Dinner to some of the group tonight. For some reason my pics aren’t uploading
